Mountain BOCES is pleased to announce that it has entered into a cost-saving and revenue generating agreement with the Educational Shippers Association (ESA), whose "Save on Delivery Program" is now available to Mountain BOCES members, as well as all school districts in Colorado.
The program is free and is guaranteed to save districts money the first time it's used. ESA provides professional freight managers to work with district purchasing teams. Through this partnership, BOCES and school districts in Colorado can reduce shipping costs on nearly every order. For example, a Purchase Order value of $75,000 with a vendor freight cost of $7,500 can be shipped through ESA Freight for $1,300, providing a savings of $6,200! Traditional shipping costs can range from 5-15% of the amount of the purchase. Using ESA, districts can save 23% on the shipping of art supplies, 38% on athletic supplies, and 75% on textbooks. Close to 250 districts in 14 states are realizing savings from excessive shipping and handling fees. In 2011, schools saved more than $1.1 million! And Mountain BOCES will receive 2% of the total shipping cost.
Mountain BOCES members can start saving immediately by registering at 888.325.8655 or on the ESA website (www.saveondelivery.com/register.html). A representative will work with district staff to determine specific needs, set up an account, and provide a welcome packet and stamps for Purchase Orders. Districts will pay the vendor for product only, and ESA will find the most efficient and cost effective way to ship products.
