Trust, Traction, and Transparency
Welcome to the Mountain BOCES Website!
Mountain BOCES is a cooperative educational service agency covering ten central Rocky Mountain school districts and Colorado Mountain College.  We are now in our 41st year of providing programs, services, and expertise that are more efficient, more economical, and of higher quality than could be achieved by one district alone.  Our strategic goal is to inspire Trust at all levels of our organization and with all of our partners, to promote Transparency in our fiscal practices and professional activities and interactions, and to focus on getting Traction to accomplish the most important goals--Trust, Traction, and Transparency.

We hope you find our site easy to navigate.  If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact our Webmaster.

Congratulations, Aspen High School!
U.S News and World Report reviewed 21,776 U.S. public high schools, and 88 Colorado schools made their rankings.  Aspen High School ranked first in Colorado and 59th in the nation.  Using primarily 2009-10 test results and taking economic and social demographics into account, the first steps considered how high schools stacked up relative to others in their state.  They were next judged on an index that measures the best college-level achievement based on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate test data.

Congratulations, Aspen, to your students, your staff, and your administration!
Congratulations, Roaring Fork and Garfield Re-2!
Garfield County School District Re-2 and Roaring Fork School District third graders reached all time high test scores in reading.  In Garfield Re-2, which includes New Castle, Silt, and Rifle schools, 74.4% of the students scored proficient or advanced.  In Roaring Fork, which includes Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, and Basalt, 75.2% of the students scored proficient or advanced.  These are their highest scores since Colorado's standards testing began in 1998.  Congratulations to all of your students, staff, and administration!
